Do You Want to Learn How to Grow Your Own Medicine?
“As we walk this plant path and gather medicine from the heart of Nature, it begins to sprout and grow within us into a living inner forest where we ourselves become the medicine.”
- Sajah Popham
I've used this quote from my Herbalism teacher because I believe it speaks to the heart of the original medicine, Earth Medicine; the value and wisdom She holds.
It's simple I promise to grow a medicinal garden!
Even if you don't have a green thumb it can be done.
Even if you don't have a lot of space.
I suggest that you start small with what interests you. Are there any plants you feel called to bring home? I'm that person who wants to save all of the half dead plants at the store because it makes me so sad.
I started small with the plants I already had growing to learn more about them. I had only viewed them for their beauty but when I realized each plant has a medicinal purpose I was amazed. It made me even more of a "crazy plant lady", a badge I wear with honor.
Then my journey expanded out and I began to forage my weeds and I let Mother Nature gift me new ones each year. I began to make tinctures and infused oils and use them in my meal preparations in new ways.
I quickly began to run out of space so I took over my husband’s side of the walk-in to closet to store all of the different types of plant medicine I had co-created with Her.
Most of what is in that closet is from dried plants I grew on my quarter of an acre property. I guarantee you’d be surprised what is already growing that you didn’t even know was useful as medicine. If you joined me in May's foraging class then you got to see the abundance that She provides for us.
Why you should come to my class rather than trusting G**GLE for your information?
Plants are much more than what G**GLE tells you what it is good for.
Discover how you can form a relationship with the plant and ask specifically how you can help and heal each other?
As you are aware anyone, and I mean anyone, can post anything they want on the internet about anything. Whether it is true, safe or kind.
If you are going to try to make your own plant medicine formulations I recommend you sign up for a class, course, purchase one of the herbal books I stock at Celtic Apothecary or borrow some from the library. The older the book the better.
I hope to see you at this next class which will be less formal than the previous ones. It's an opportunity for you to commune with all of the plants I've grown from seed with Mother Natures assistance. Sign up closes today!
To the plants!
Amy
P.S. Here is a list of what I've packed up for tomorrow's class-you won't find these plants locally and you definitely won't find them at the prices I'm offering to you. Take a look at this video I shot a few weeks ago to see them in person
